Since 1970, I have traveled throughout the world working on various photographic and video projects, which has given me the chance to explore many popular and cherished places with my cameras. Landscape and architecture has become s source of inspiration and discovery.
In 1978 and 1980, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to study with Ansel Adams in California and then teach at the Ansel Adams Workshop on a number of occasions. Through this association, I was exposed to Ansel's philosophy on preservation and documentation of the land and historic man-made structures.
In this group of images, I have included shots done during several workshops I have taught in New Mexico. When I travel, I love to look at the culture, artifacts, environments and combine those observations with my use of craft. I am drawn to strong composition created by light and shadow and continue to work with these picture elements throughout post processing.
